The wider picture
Is that a fair price?
Worth knowing what everyone else charges before you commit to anyone, us included. We wrote a guide to what therapy costs across the UK, using the figures UKCP and BACP publish rather than our own estimates.
What therapy costs in the UKPricing questions
Straight answers on cost.
Not by cutting corners on who you see. Our therapists are psychotherapists in advanced UKCP-accredited clinical training, delivery is lean and fully online, and there are no clinic overheads, so we can keep the price low while paying every therapist fairly. Affordable because the model is honest, not because someone works unpaid.
A one-off £26 assessment to begin, then £40 for each 50-minute weekly session. You pay for the assessment when you book it. For sessions after that, your card is kept securely on file, held by Stripe so neither Hora nor your therapist ever sees it, and charged after each session. No membership, no hidden fees.
Yes. An invoice is emailed to you automatically each time a payment is taken, for your assessment and for every session, so you always have a record for your files or to claim on insurance. Nothing to request.
There’s one honest price for everyone, with no income testing either way. If cost is a barrier, please do get in touch. It’s also worth knowing that NHS Talking Therapies are free and you can refer yourself, and that some private therapists keep a few quiet reduced-fee places, so it never hurts to ask around.
Life happens. We ask for at least seven days’ notice to cancel or rearrange a session; with less notice, or a missed session, the session is charged. Your therapist will talk you through the agreement at the start, so everything is clear and there are no surprises.
