How it works

How Hora takes care of you, from first click to first session.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve never done it before. Here’s exactly how Hora works, so there are no surprises. Just a calm, clear path to a weekly hour that’s yours.

The process

Three steps to get you started:

1

An assessment

A warm, informal 25-minute conversation with an experienced clinician, to understand what you need and find the right fit. Not an interview or a test, and no pressure to continue.

2

Choose your therapist

Straight after, you’re sent a small selection of therapist profiles and choose who you’d like to work with, rather than being assigned. You agree a weekly time that’s yours, and begin soon after, with no long wait.

3

A weekly hour

The same time each week, over a secure, encrypted Zoom telehealth link. Open-ended, with no contract and no minimum commitment, so you stay for as long as it helps.

Come as you are

What it’s actually like.

Most people feel nervous beforehand and lighter afterwards. Here’s the honest version of what to expect, so nothing feels like a test you can fail.

You don’t need the right words.

If you go blank, that’s completely normal. Your therapist will help you find your way in, and quiet moments are part of the work, not a failure.

Feeling emotional is welcome.

Tears, anger, relief, none of it is awkward here. It’s a space made for exactly that, and there’s nothing you can bring that’s too much.

You don’t need a reason that sounds serious.

“Something feels off” is reason enough. You don’t have to justify being here, or arrive with any of it already figured out.

If it’s not the right fit, say so.

Fit matters more than anything. If your therapist isn’t right for you, we’ll help you change for free.

Good to know

A few common questions.

There’s no lengthy waiting list. Once you’ve had your assessment and been matched, you and your therapist agree a weekly time that’s then held for you.

First step

Ready when you are.

A £26 assessment is a low-pressure first step. If you’re not sure where to start, a self-check can help you see what might be going on.
