Who we are
Behind the hour.
Affordable, open-ended psychotherapy and counselling, online and UK-wide. A clinic where the therapists are properly supported and properly paid.
Who looks after Hora
The Hora team:

Adam is a Gestalt psychotherapeutic counsellor, working in private practice in London, where much of his work is with LGBTQIA+ clients. He is also a mindfulness teacher, listed with the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA).
He worked in low-cost placements himself during his training, and saw the same thing each time: clients who rarely knew they were seeing someone still in training, and who assumed their fee was reaching the therapist in front of them. It can be done differently. Therapy that is genuinely affordable, that carries on for as long as it is useful, from therapists who are paid properly, supervised properly, and open with their clients about where they are in their training.
As Clinical Lead, Adam recruits every therapist at Hora and holds its clinical governance. He is also responsible for how Hora responds when a client is at risk, and for the quality of care the public receives from Hora.

Oliver runs the day-to-day of Hora: how trainees are placed and paid, the admin behind every placement, and the relationship between trainees and their training organisations. He also looks after Hora’s business and institutional partnerships, and is usually the first point of contact for anyone getting in touch, whether that is a trainee, a partner or a member of the public.
He came to this work through his own experience of therapy. Oliver has been in personal therapy for many years, which has shaped a longstanding interest in self-development, and in what makes support usable rather than just available.
Co-founding Hora with Adam grew out of wanting to build something that did right by both sides of the therapy room: trainees who are paid fairly and supported properly for real clinical work, and clients who know exactly who they are seeing and why. For Oliver, that is the part that matters, getting the practical side right so people can trust Hora with something as private and meaningful as therapy.
How it works
Three steps to get you started:
An assessment
A 25-minute assessment with an experienced clinician, to understand what you need and find the right fit.
Choose your therapist
Straight after your assessment, you’re sent a selection of therapist profiles to browse, each with their own specialisms and interests. You choose who you’d like to work with, and begin soon after, with no long wait for your first session.
A weekly hour
Open-ended weekly sessions online, at the same time each week, held just for you. No contract and no minimum commitment, so you stay for as long as it helps.
Where to go next
The rest of it, in one place.
The first step
Ready when you are.
A £26 assessment is a low-pressure first step. If you’re not sure where to start, a self-check can help you see what might be going on.
